In the second edition of "Red Head Sicily", an event that includes a group of people with natural red hair (the only one currently present in Southern Italy) which, this year, will take place from 4 to 6 September on the island of Favignana.
This year the dress code, that is the color that will distinguish the second edition of the gathering, will be the colors of Sicily: the festival will therefore take place in perfect Sicily style.
Originally the festival was supposed to take place from 25 to 28 June, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the date that was announced last February has been skipped.
This year´s edition, due to the restrictions imposed by the anti Covid-19 provisions, has suffered from constraints or that there will be no parade through the streets of Favignana, but will be replaced by the "symbolic" swim of the reds in Lido Burrone and the initiatives will take place at the “Sea Club”, a very large bathing establishment with a view of Levanzo which will allow us to respect the distance provided between people.
Entry will be allowed with a mask, temperature measurement and registration of personal data.
In this year´s edition, as an opening appointment, from 6 to 8 pm on Friday 4 September in the “Sea Club” establishment, red wine will be the protagonist of the Wine Contest.
The wines will also be the protagonists of the tasting by the sea which will be held on Saturday 5th at 8.45 pm together with the show cooking dedicated to sushi prepared with Mediterranean bluefin tuna and shellfish from our sea by the “red head” chef Ferdinando Ganci.
In addition, both Friday 4th and Saturday 5th, from 9.30 pm, at the “Sea Club”, there will be two talk-shows hosted by the “hyena” Ismaele La Vardera, Fabrizio Bracconeri and Vanessa Galipoli. Friday 4, during the evening, we will also talk about “Light skin, how to protect yourself” with the dermatologist Maurizio Pettinato.
The Vespa Club also joined the festival this year: some vintage wasps will arrive on the island for a tour of the island together with the reds participating in the Festival. There are two excursions on the program: Saturday morning in Levanzo and Sunday morning in Marettimo. During the three days, a photo shoot will also be made with the red people protagonists in the most evocative places of the three Egadi islands, for the publication of the first 2021 calendar "Red Head Sicily".
