Preparations are underway for the Carnival of Petrosino which in a few years has become so famous as to become one of the most important events in the provincial territory.
Then this year even more, because the presence of guest singer Sabrina salerno, whom we recently saw alongside Amadeus in the last Sanremo Festival, was announced by the organization.
He will be a guest in the square on Sunday 23 February at 9.00 pm and will entertain the public with his songs that have sold over 20 million records, proving to be among the Italian artists who have sold the most abroad.
Discovered by Claudio Cecchetto, Sabrina Salerno became famous in the eighties as a girl thanks to the pin up measures and obtaining a great success throughout Europe thanks to the albums Sabrina, Super Sabrina and Over the Pop, as well as some singles of genre that have reached the third position in the British hit, making Salerno one of the few Italian artists to succeed.
In recent years she had somewhat abandoned the scene to devote herself to the family, but in 2020 Amadeus chose her as co-host of the Sanremo Festival, taking part in the second and last evening.
Certainly that of Sabrina Salerno further enriches the Petrosino carnival, which also this year includes the parade of allegorical floats made as always by local artisans.
The appointments this year are from Saturday 22 to Tuesday 25 February in the center of the town with wagons accompanied by masked groups with music, songs and dances, while this year there will be the initiative "Neighborhood in Party" where in Piazza Repubblica , every afternoon from 16 to 20.00 in a large shed set up for the occasion there will be animation, music and choreography and also the opportunity to taste street food in a truly excellent food and wine itinerary.
