In the new exhibition center of the Museum of Contemporary Art S. Rocco in Trapani it is possible to visit an exhibition by Maestro Francesco Impellizzeri who recently inaugurated an exhibition of a series of works that marked particular moments in the personal and professional life of the ´artist.
In fact, the theme of the exhibition is the memory, made of images, colors, essences and words that allow you to make good trips without the need to take a plane or a train, because only with the mind is it possible to travel in the memory to rediscover the memories of the past.
It is said that our mind is made up of many small drawers, where the memories of our life are kept and it is enough to open them to see them again and relive them.
Francesco Impellizzeri is an artist born and raised in Trapani, but trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he lives and works. He has exhibited in important galleries, museums and cultural institutions, such as the Venice Biennale and the Madrid Museum. From 1987 to 2014 he collaborated with important artists and today he is a member of the scientific committee of the Accardi-Sanfilippo archive.
Returning to his exhibition, which can be visited in Trapani at the S. Rocco Museum until 13 April 2020, his latest works are also present, where sentences in rhyme are painted through colored surfaces, transparent or luminous projections. Also on display is a series of colored screen-printed disks that testify to his youthful memory in the 90s and a huge red kite in which a drawing of the elementary schools is reproduced.
The exhibition ends with a project from which the imaginative artist has created a large installation for the Museum of Mediterranean Textures of Gibellina, where fragments of marble, thrown there on the rocks, tell a story and float metaphorically on the wave of memory.
