The tourist season closes in San Vito Lo Capo with the event "San Vito Lo Capo - Ancient Medieval Village", with the representation in the famous seaside village of the typical medieval village with the parade of musicians and flag-wavers.
Even San Vito Lo Capo in the past was a medieval village and the Sanctuary itself, which is the oldest monument in the country, was considered at the same time a fortress that had the task of protecting the village from the attacks of Barbary pirates and to host in safety all those pilgrims from afar.
Obviously what we see today is not the original medieval fortress, because over the centuries the building has undergone several building renovation interventions.
It will be a weekend where the visitor will go back in time when the protagonists of the ancient medieval villages were the merchants, the artisans, the knights, the musicians and the flag-wavers. On the program, whose entrance will be free in the avenues of the gardens of the town hall, there will be period costume parades, performances by jugglers and stilt walkers, fire shows and the delicious tastings of products and flavors of the past cannot be missed.
The event officially closes the tourist season in San Vito Lo Capo, which also this year saw truly record numbers in terms of attendance and with this event we want to demonstrate that San Vito Lo Capo is not just sea and cous cous, but also tradition and culture with events also linked to the history of the village.
The event is promoted by the municipality of San Vito Lo Capo and by the association Musici e Sbandieratori Real Trinacria Trapani-Erice, which will set up the mediavele village inside the garden of the town hall, as we have already said and will be open to the public on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October from 17 to 24 with closing at 21 on the last day of Sunday.
