Back in San Vito Lo Capo the event "Tempo ri capuna", which a few years ago was held in June at the beginning of the tourist season, but now living in a perspective of seasonal adjustment of tourism, was moved in the autumn next weekend (11-13 October).
For the uninitiated, the capone is a particular type of blue fish that in Italian is called Lampuga; in fact it is the classic soup fish, which does not have a particularly interesting market, but nevertheless its meat is much appreciated and deserves to be known in appointments like these in San Vito Lo Capo.
The review is also aimed at the rediscovery of stories and legends related to fishing and the sea and is above all confused with the dolphin, because the English name of this species is dolphinfish, often abbreviated by dolphin fishermen, easily generating confusion with dolphins; even a famous writer, Fernanda Pivano, translating the work "The Old Man and the Sea" into an Italian version, mistakenly describing the protagonist with the intention of hoisting a dolphin on board and eating it completely, which is difficult for an old man, since the correct reference is precisely the gurnard.
As it was for the Cous Cous Fest, also for this event a food and wine village will be set up, where from 12 to midnight buying a ticket, you can taste first and second courses based on blue fish.
Not only will there be a capone for tasting, but also mackerel, spatulas and anchovies, all for the pleasure of the palates that like to eat fish without spending much.
Do not miss the appointments related to entertainment with free music concerts; this time there will be no big names in pop music, but still enjoyable shows for the amusement of the many tourists and visitors who still crowd the seaside village.
