Evocative event will take place in the former Florio plant of Favignana Sunday, May 26th at 6.00 pm where fashion, fashion and of course music will be featured in "Tonnara in notes" to celebrate the return to the activity of tuna fishery in the island (excluding the artificial fall of 2016) after a 12-year stop.
The fulcrum of this resumption of activity, obviously, will no longer be the former Florio plant, which since its production ceased more than 30 years ago, was purchased by the Sicily Region and, after a skilful redevelopment, has become one of the most important museum centers in Italy.
And just inside this magnificent cultural center this event will take place organized by Tiziana Criscuoli with the patronage of the municipality of Favignana and of the Sicily Region.
It will be an event in which music and fashion will mix together, as we said at the beginning; in fact the "Giuseppe Beninati" Band Corps from Favignana, the tonnaroti of yesterday and today who will perform some cialomes, typical songs of the fishermen during the tuna fishing and the favignanese artist Diamante Di Vita, who will perform some musical pieces on the themes of sea and fishing; finally, again for the musical part, the participation of the Tuscan soprano Silvana Froli is confirmed, but now become an internationally renowned star, who will perform some arias in honor of the sea and of the splendid land of Sicily.
Between one musical interlude and another there will be a delightful fashion show curated by the Trapani stylist Daniela Neri who will show her accessories with jewels and bags inspired by the theme of fishing and the sea in general with models that are all girls of the island of Favignana.
In this evening made of memories there will be many other guests to give their testimony on the tradition not to be forgotten but to always commemorate with a look, however, launched to the future, because the activity of tuna fishery, which has been the fulcrum of the economy of the island, wants to return to being protagonist again.
