Another appointment to write on the agenda and to be visited during Christmas holidays is definitely "The Bible in the Park", now in its 22nd edition and awarded in 2016 by Italialive as the best event.
More than twenty years have passed since in the distant December of 1997 an association of a group of inhabitants of the Valdericina district of Misericordia decided to promote the idea of a living nativity that was truly original.
The intent has been fully achieved with the creation of a series of static biblical living pictures that are represented in the urban park of mercy with great public success.
The Bible in the Park is not the classic crib that we are used to seeing, but it is a real organizational effort not indifferent and the numbers repay the commitment sustained by the Pro Misericordia association with 47,250 visitors in over 20 years of performances and 266 the figures, who represented the ten scenes taken from the Old and New Testaments.
The only scene that has been present since 1997 is obviously that of the Nativity, which closes the 800-meter path created and lit by torches in the urban park of Misericordia.
The visits to the park will take place on 26, 29 and 30 December and 5-6 January 2019 from 18 to 21.00, while admission is free.
The Bible in the Park also has other related events that will outline the event in itself and are according to the following schedule:
2nd December 7th Art Extemporaneous in Piazza Cristo Re Valderice 9.00 am
December 9th Tombola in solidarity with the Excelsior mill at 17.00
December 14th Conference on the topic at Molino Excelsior 6.30 pm
4 January 2019 concert with the choir John Paul II in the Church Maria SS. Mercy at 21.00.
