One of the cool events of the tourist season of San Vito Lo Capo is certainly "San Vito Climbing Festival" scheduled from 1 to 4 November and brings together in the seaside village many athletes from all over Italy and the world to participate in a series of sport climbing competitions.
It seems curious that in the city of the sea and summer tourism an event takes place that has the mountain as its protagonist, because, perhaps not everyone knows it, but the rocks of San Vito Lo Capo have attracted climbers from all sides for a long time. years ago the sports association Rocce di Sicilia invented this autumn event that almost closed the tourist season in San Vito Lo Capo.
The event is mainly sport and consists of a series of competitions and rallies of sport climbing, Trail running, mountain biking and rock climbing, but during the days other side events are the outline of a long Halloween weekend in the name of climbing and adventure.
This year´s guest star is Pietro Radassao, who is a young athlete from Molise and has become one of the most famous climbers in southern Italy to have climbed the crags of the house and beyond.
San Vito Climbing Festival is not just sport, we said, but it is also a show with the participation of slackline and parkour athletes who will give life to breathtaking shows with their evolutions, but also concerts, music and a film festival of mountain films and of adventure.
Again this year the race for the youngest will be back, where children aged 6 to 10 will compete, obviously in complete safety, in a small speed climbing competition on a turret made available by the UISP, which is the sports promotion that gives its patronage together with the municipality of San Vito Lo Capo.
