From 29 July to 5 August Erice will be transformed into a film set for the third consecutive year with the event "CinemadaAmare / Traveling Campus", an initiative promoted by the Erice Arte Foundation under the patronage of the municipality of Erice.
It is an international and itinerant festival that has been taking place in Italy for the last 15 years and which brings together the various young film makers of the world during the year in various parts of Italy.
The participating nations are 65 in total and adhere to this review, which is organized in collaboration with the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma and other 27 universities and film schools worldwide, ranging from the prestigious Sorbonne University of Paris to Santa Monica in Los Angeles.
Also this year 100 filmmakers will meet in Erice for 7 days and will make 20 short films, which will be judged in the final evening in the presence of a large audience.
A special jury composed of important world-renowned directors and the director of photography at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Roma will judge the works in competition to reward the best short film made during the ericina stage.
The official opening of the event will be Sunday, July 29 in the presence of the mayor of Erice, Daniela Toscano and then all activities will take place throughout the week, providing for the whole day the production of the film, which will then be screened in the evening outdoors in the splendid setting of Piazzetta San Giuliano.
Among the prizes, there will be scholarships and research grants offered by the most prestigious universities in the world, to allow young filmmakers to specialize in highly qualified research laboratories.
