For the entire month of July Favignana will be in music with the fourth edition of the famous music festival "Favignana in musica", which will entertain tourists visiting with concerts and musical performances under the artistic direction of Maestro Arturo Andreoli.
Location of the music festival will be the squares of the island, but also the Florio plant with renowned artists for what regards classical music and jazz, but there will also be concerts organized by the same association "Aegusea Nuova Vincenzo Bellini" of Favignana, which organizes the event.
Favignana has a great musical tradition thanks to the band composed of about 60 elements, which was founded around the nineteenth, historical and economic period very important, because the island lived its period of greatest splendor thanks to the Florio family, which in addition to being composed of great entrepreneurs, they were the main supporters of music, making themselves promoters of the foundation of the first band nucleus.
As for the current band, it met in association on October 23, 1990 thanks to the merger of the two pre-existing music groups. For several years he has organized a rich musical program in Favignana, which involves all the squares of the island in evening appointments at 9.30pm until the 30th of July.
This year´s varied program includes 9 chamber music concerts with piano and string performances, as well as other instruments such as flute, cello and sax.
Last concerts have sold out, because the musical reality of Favignana is very alive, which has a fairly demanding public and rightly demands quality.
A quality that the public from an economic point of view does not support, because the music festival is guaranteed by the onerous patronage of the town of Favignana.
