The 10th edition of SiciliAmbiente, festival, is about to start on 10th July in S. Vito Lo Capo. It is an international exhibition dedicated to documentaries and short films, whose common denominator is the theme of the environment and human rights.
Today the theme of the environment and human rights are questioned, so events of this type, which have as stage the locality of S. Vito Lo Capo, which is internationally famous, serve to raise awareness on the priorities that politicians and rulers around the world must keep in mind, because if effective measures are not adopted as soon as possible, then future generations will suffer the consequences.
We said that S. Vito Lo Capo lends itself very well to act as a sounding board for these messages, because the seaside village is famous for its natural beauties and for what regards respect for human rights; in fact, the locality is the main teacher of integration with the cous cous fest, where peoples of all nationalities through the cous cous show that they know how to integrate themselves by tasting a good dish.
Every evening until July 15 in the two open-air rooms, which are the garden of Palazzo La Porta (seat of the municipality) and the beach of Porto Turistico, films and documentaries will be screened, which this year have as theme the theme of ´pollution of the sea because of the plastic that is thrown continuously.
The campaign launched by Greenpeace Italia is made by the organizers, asking big companies like Coca Cola, Pepsi, Nestlè and Mc Donalds to stop using single-use packaging and containers.
As always, the exhibition initially includes a market laboratory, attended by all the artisans, who have been selected through a call and will be inaugurated in Piazza Santuario an infopoint of the event, which will end on Sunday 15 with a final evening in which the documentaries short films presented by competitors will be awarded by a jury of experts not only in the film and documentary field, but also in the field of ecology.
