After the great success of the public obtained with the exhibition "The Battle of the Egadi", the Tower of Ligny is preparing to host another exhibition, but this time the protagonist will be contemporary art with the exhibition entitled "In Bilico: between two worlds near and far ".
It is a project of intercultural exchange that involves artists from Italy and Taiwan with the exhibition of works that photograph in a variegated way cultural differences, but also the points of contact that exist between the artists born and raised in two worlds physically distant (Italy and Taiwan for the note) but that are close for intent, storytelling and also for places, because both Sicily and Taiwan have high mountains, active volcanoes that like Etna, illuminate the night during the lava hatches , as well as warm winds and really evocative seascapes, it seems almost to be in our parts, but it is Taiwan.
The purpose of the exhibition is to show visitors that there is a common thread that unites the works of the artists and the territory from which they come.
The exchange and comparison project does not only include visual arts, but also the culinary ones, where Sicily takes the field with its specialties.
The project is sponsored by the municipality of Trapani and is organized by the gallery "Magazzini dellŽArte Contemporanea di Trapani, by Antonio Sammartano, Darine RaJhi with the artistic coordination of Massilimiliano Robino; for the culinary part, however, there is the cultural association "Assapurari".
The exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday 6 July at 19.00, but visitors will be able to admire it from 7 July to 6 August, because the exhibition project will continue in Milan, in October, at the spaces provided by the Lombardy region.
Finally, in November, the exhibition will be staged and inaugurated in Taiwan with the financial support of the local government and other Taipei economic and cultural development agencies.
