It is at the starting point, and it is appropriate to say it, the XXI edition of the historical re-enactment of the famous car race "Trapani-Monte Erice" to be held on 23rd and 24th June with the real time trial and a series of collateral events.
This is a national event organized by ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) that gathers historic cars from all over Italy that were built until 1976 and are located in the province of Trapani for a race that perfectly combines the cultural aspect with that tourism; who will participate in the event, in fact, will also have the opportunity to travel all those scenic roads and visit the most important places in our area.
First of all, it must be said that it is not a competitive race, even if the formula chosen consists in passing time trials with the exclusive use of mechanical chronometers.
As we said, the historical re-enactment is also a time for the holiday and the day on Saturday is a visit to the former tonnara of Bonagia and the museum that was set up to remember the ancient fishing activity of tuna that in these parts serious integrated until the eighties. From there you will always be on board the historic cars in Castellammare del Golfo with a visit to the Castle and the Archaeological Park of Segesta.
Trapani, where there will be the renowned vintage car on the catwalk, where every crew on their car will parade, making known to the youngest the beauties of the cars of the past, which even today, thanks to careful maintenance, are able to move and compete with skill tests.
Sunday is another race, where the cars from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in Trapani will head for Valderice and from there to Mount Erice in a really exciting time trial for the 2018 podium.
