Back to the event "Festa Federicina" that relive from 31 May to 3 June those that are the atmosphere of the medieval era in which on the streets horses and knights, armed duels, crossbowmen, dancers and flag-wavers the characteristic melody of the musicians.
The city of Erice lends itself very well to recreate the historical re-enactment of the arrival to Erice of the King of Sicily Federico III of Aragon and his wife Eleonora, who left an important sign of their stay, testified by the fact that the Cathedral was built for as a token of thanks to the inhabitants for the precious help granted during the dynastic war between the Angevins and the Aragonese for the control of the Kingdom of Sicily after the extinction of the Norman-Swabian family.
Also this year the event is organized by the association "TraDuMari" and has the patronage of the Municipality of Erice and the Erice Foundation, while the artistic direction is always entrusted to the multifaceted M ° Claudio Maltese.
The episode is divided into several phases and first starts with the arrival at Porta Trapani at the turn of the royal cortege accompanied by musicians and flag-wavers of the group "Real Trinacria".
From there the parade moves to Piazza Umberto I, where there will be a ceremony to hand over the keys to the city.

The event will close on Sunday 3 June with a floral tribute to the Madonna di Custonaci, Celeste Patrona of Erice.
