The Holy Week begins in the province of Trapani on Palm Sunday with the Via Crucis of Buseto Palizzolo, which among all the rites that take place in our territory is the one that has a more recent history, because the first representation dates back to 1981 when a group of young busetani, he conceived this event.
Thirty-seven years have passed since then and they did not even think about the great success that this event could ever achieve over the years, so much so as to win the prestigious "Italive" award in the "Historical Re-enactments" category.
The representation of the Via Crucis of Buseto Palizzolo is not made with statuary groups, but they are living characters, who do not act, but interpret the scenes narrated by the Gospels while they are still.
We can imagine the great effort that these people make standing still for several hours, without showing any emotion or sacrifice, but then all these efforts are rewarded, because the people who come to Buseto Palizzolo are so many.
The procession is organized by the Confraternity of the Crucifix that already in January begin their preparatory meetings to prepare with passion the thirty-eighth edition.
The Via Crucis begins at 17 and leaves the Church of Santa Teresa of the Child Jesus, in the village of Badia to finish at 23.30 in Piazza G. Falcone in the city center.
When this experience began in 1981, the groups were only 11, now thanks to the efforts made by the volunteers we have moved to the current 16 groups which are:
