After the great Christmas events, including flea markets, cribs and inevitable food and wine festivals, the city of Trapani closes the holidays with a very special concert.
Protagonists will be some guys from Trapani who have formed a band called "Nova Igre": New Game.
The group proposes a musical genre with a thousand-year history as an expression of a gypsy culture, which has its roots in the distant Middle Ages, when the long journey of the nomadic people from northern India began, through Middle East Asia to reach Europe and Iberian Peninsula.
It is a nomadic music like the culture from which it derives.
The songs proposed by the Nova Igre come from the Balkan regions, from Turkey, from the Middle East, from flamenco Spain and Manouche France, in a succession of sounds suitable to recreate the theme most dear to this culture: the journey.
The activity of Ermes, the association that promotes social tourism in the province of Trapani, is founded on the theme of travel.
A theme that has often been declined also in musical terms.
Already last summer, the Hermes association promoted a blues concert by showing the Blues Brothers Band that for several years did not perform together.
This time the association Hermes, in collaboration with the Enchè Luglio Musicale Trapanese and the municipality of Trapani, has bet on this group to close with new languages that are equally enthralling the Christmas holidays.
Appointment then, in Corso Vittorio Emanuele in the stretch before Palazzo Cavarretta at 21.30 with a musical event, which together with the befana, all the parties take away.
