One of the traditional Christmas events in the territory of Trapani is "the Bible in the Park", which this year will celebrate its 21st edition since in 1997 a group of inhabitants of the Valdericine hamlet of Misericordia decided to form an association to promote the territory with events and initiatives of a social, cultural, religious and natural character.
This manifestation, which represents the primary commitment of the Pro Misericordia association, is to carry out the transposition of certain themes of biblical passages through the realization of static living pictures, but it is not the classic crib we are accustomed to see, commitment of about 200 figures representing ten scenes from the Old and New Testament.
The only scene that accompanies the various editions of the path created and illuminated by torches in the urban park of Misericordia is that of the Nativity, which closes the biblical itinerary irrespective of the themes dealt with in the Bible.
The event will take place during Christmas holidays, but can only be accessed in the evening only on 23-26 and 30 December and 5, 6 and 7 January 2018.
During the event there are other side initiatives such as conferences, extemporaneous painting, concerts and recitals of poems.
This year another more reason to go to the Misericordia urban park is that in 2016 the event has received the prestigious "Italive" award as the best event.
The awards ceremony was held in Rome last March with great satisfaction from the president of the association and all the protagonists who at any event have collaborated to make a great event of beauty and beauty, in which culture and faith intersect.
