With the beginning of autumn, for the fourth consecutive year, the appointment with the porcini mushrooms of Buseto Palizzolo will host the festival from October 27th to 29th with a series of side events such as exhibitions, tastings and cooking shows.
To be honest, the porcini fungus is not a characteristic of the cuisine of our parts, because thanks to the proximity to the sea typical dishes are made with seafood but in recent years the fungus has become a product of excellence with all the its very popular varieties in the kitchen.
Location of the mushroom picking excursions is as always the Bosco Scorace with its 750 acres, is one of the most important green areas in the Trapani hinterland, although it has suffered several damage due to the fires of last summer. This festival even if it is not a big event of the summer, however, it is well placed in the calendar of events with a view to a seasonalizing of tourism.
Like every year, the festival of porcini mushrooms is organized by the mycological group "T. Pocorobba "with the patronage of the commune of Buseto Palizzolo, as well as by the Sicilian Tourist Board and some local tourism agencies, such as Trapani Welcome.
Here is the program of the event:
27 October 2017: Meeting with the boys of the middle schools of Buseto Palizzolo (by the Micologico Group "Tonino Pocorobba").
28 October 2017: 18:00 Conference on the theme: protection and enhancement of the forest area. Following cooking shows by the hotel "V. Florio "by Erice and tastings by the Pro Loco Buseto Palizzolo
October 29, 2017: - 9:00 am Guided excursion to the Wood of Scorace. Mycological - naturalistic itinerary (Meeting point: Equipped area at the entrance of the Bosco For the whole month of October, Buseto Palizzolo´s restaurants have their menus with mushroom dishes.
