The season of events in Favignana continues in a mix of sacred and profane at the feast of the SS. Crucified, the patron saint of the island of Favignana.
The municipal administration has organized a two-day event with a series of events to entertain residents and tourists who still reside in the largest of the Egadi this September.
It starts on Wednesday, September 13, at 9.30 pm in Piazza Matrice with a concert by Giuseppe Beninati, directed by M ° Arturo Andreoli and M ° Jose Alcacer Dura with the extraordinary participation as Ms. Silvio Barbara´s soloist.
It is a grand musical event, because they are the three orchestral conductors who participate, giving them all their professionalism as well as the individual members that form the band.
It should not be forgotten that the great Master Jose Alcacer Dura these days is in Favignana to hold a series of lessons on the direction of the orchestra.
And the students will be the protagonists of the evening because the concert is divided into two parts: the first part is directed musically by the students of the masterclass of the teacher Alcacer, we speak of young people who go from 20 to 35 years from all over Europe, the second part is directed just by the trio of masters we mentioned earlier.
In addition, Favignana hosts these days the National Youth Bands Competition that brings together young talent from all over Italy to grow the bandwidth, which is especially prestigious and appreciated in Favignana.
On the day of the 14th of September always the town band will musically accompany the streets of the island with the icon of the Most Holy Crucifix in procession.
