On August 4, the seventh edition of "Baglio Olio e Mare", the gastronomic show that until August 6th will attract a large number of tourists and natives to a series of flavors and odors in the "Bay of Santa Margherita" in Castelluzzo until August 6 Of fish tastings.
The event is organized by the local cultural tourism association "Castelluzzo", which has been engaged for some years to revitalize with citizens and economic operators, the village of Castelluzzo a few kilometers from the seaside village of San Vito Lo Capo.
Baglio Olio e Mare aims to make it known first of all that a stretch of coast is still untouched and that it intends to stay through a healthy sustainable tourism policy. Secondly, the festival tends to propose the various fish specialties caught in these parts.
The program, like every year, is rich in so many initiatives that start in the morning on the beach. A train available for free will accompany the tourists from the car park to the bay, where a large dumper with a liter of seed oil was prepared.
From the early hours of the morning we will start frying the catch of the day: turkeys, shrimp, sardines, maccarruneddu and alice.
From 12 to 15 pm there will be tasting of cunzatu bread with oil extracted from the olive groves of the district, as Castelluzzo is rich in many generous products offered by both the sea and the land.
For tasting there are two types of menus. The first is made up of busiate trapanese, fried fish, bruschette, yellow melon and a glass of wine.
The other menu provides only the day´s catch and yellow melon with a glass of wine.
Finished to eat in the evening, the show continues in the town center of Castelluzzo with music and much fun always accompanied by a maxi fish fry, because here the good fish is home.
