The great season of 2017 summer events in S. Vito Lo Capo begins with the ninth edition of the Festival of Aquiloni that will be held from 25 to 28 May, recalling in the most famous seaport of Italy thousands of enthusiasts with their nose up.
Born in vain as a mere playful manifestation of the organizerīs passion, the San Vito lo Capo Festival has become increasingly important and important throughout the years.
The inaugural event of the tourist season of San Vito Lo Capo, the Festival of Aquiloni recalls in the province of Trapani the many enthusiasts of the kites; Not only children but also adults who can cast their colorful kites in the sky.
Thanks to the didactic workshops and the moments of meeting with the schools, you will be able to learn how to make your own kites to be launched into the sky.
As has happened every year, this edition will also address a social theme, because even in an event characterized by carefree, cheerfulness, peace and serenity, it is possible to stop thinking about what is going on around us.
In the days preceding the event, a memorial will be held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Capaci massacre; The event in which Judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo and escort agents lost their lives.
On May 24, all the kayakers will arrive in town, but on May 25, they will start their activities. From 10am to the afternoon, you will be able to see all the flying kites (monofilament, giants and acrobatics) and there will be moments of entertainment with the music in the square, concerts and many surprise guests.
The grand finale Sunday, May 28th, when the 9th Kite Festival will come to an end, leaving its load of memories and colorful photos to share with friends and acquaintances.
As with the Aquiloni Festival every year, the Marathon Zero Barriere-Disabili no limits will also take place, in which disabled and standard people participate in a racing competition.
