It was inaugurated Saturday, April 8 at the Cloister Monumental Complex of San Domenico and will be open throughout the Easter period, the exhibition "The color, the memory space" by Franco Mineo, a painter from Trapani, the grandson inherited a love for beautiful and art.
After living for years in Lombardy and Tuscany, in 1990 he returned to Sicily, where he falls in love with the archipelago Egadi, particularly the island of Favignana, which represents for him a great source of inspiration, with its landscapes, characters and artistic adventures.
It ´a retrospective that traces the most significant moments of over thirty years of the artist´s career Trapani, who dedicated his whole life to seek a painting technique that was full of color and sign, hence the title of the event.
It ´a retrospective that wants to be an anthology of what the artist Mineo has so far produced and that still does not stop there, because his art and his technique are constantly changing.
The exhibition is divided into three rooms, which are divided as follows: in the first room you can admire the paintings, which were made during the period in which Mineo stayed on the island of Favignana; In fact, the works depict the tuna fishing and the seascapes of that island.
In the second room are works that have aroused in him strong impressions for the sites, which have profoundly shocked the soul.
Finally in the third environment the dominant theme is the mutual relationship that exists between Man and Nature: a negative report, which tragically manifested man´s folly for the natural environment, which then takes revenge against man in a devastating way.
