They warm up the engines in the province of Trapani for the start of Holy Week, which will reach its climax on Good Friday with the Procession of the Mysteries.
Meanwhile in the city held a series of events and initiatives, focusing on the theme of the Passion and Death of Jesus.
One of these is the exhibition that will begin Wednesday, April 5 at 17:00, in the premises of the Regional Museum "Agostino Pepoli" Trapani entitled "Passio Christi: the Passion of Jesus in the engravings of the Klauber brothers".
It is an exhibition, which will be exhibited 46 printed etchings, works of German engravers Joseph Sebastian and Johann Baptist Klauber, built to a design by the painter Gottfried Bernhard Göz, depicting the different moments of the Passion of Christ, from arrest until the crucifixion and death.
Overall, the 46 etchings illustrating the 46 days of Lent, which tells the last period of Jesus´ activity on earth before his resurrection (from Ash Wednesday to Holy Saturday, including Sundays).
It will not be a simple exhibition where the visitor will simply look at pictures, but they are enriched by many quotations from the Holy Bible, which come out from the mouth of the illustrated characters as if they were old comics of Christ´s Passion. Of real dialogue, which easily can be understood by implementing some sort of interaction between the works and the viewer.
The inauguration of the exhibition, which will be open from 6 April to 1 May, attended by the director of the Regional Center of Trapani and Marsala for cultural sites Luigi Biondo, Bishop Pietro Maria Fragnelli, Giuseppe Strazzeri, Daniela Scandariato.
