Preparations are underway in Favignana for the inauguration of the Santa Claus Village, scheduled for Saturday, December 17.
It seems a bit īstrange to speak of Christmas celebrations program in the largest of the Egadi, known by all as the most popular summer resorts, but this year the city administration with the collaboration of various associations wanted to surpass itself with īstaging of a series of events, which will conclude on December 30.
The start is given, as we said at the beginning, Saturday 17 December at 18.45 in the square matrix with the second edition of this village, which entertains children and adults after the success of last year.
The Santa Claus Village for thirteen days will host a big playground, which will be operational from 17 to 20 with tastings of local products and re-enactments of sacred traditions thanks to a group of experienced animators, who will sing and will dance.
The holiday season will not only be in Favignana, as the city government has provided some demonstrations also in Levanzo and Marettimo.
In particular in the small Levanzo it was set up a big Christmas tree with a series of games and tastings, while the far Marettimo the organizers wanted to focus on a Christmas ecological message with "Christmas Boat" and the creation of a crib, which was produced with energy-saving lED lights.
Finally, the whole island is festively lit with a large tree set up by fishermen and adorned not with the classic balls, but with recycled plastic fish.
So for those who want to admire the Egadi islands in the winter version, it will come during the holiday season and enjoy its unique flair.
