The city of Trapani will be the location on 11-12 and 13 November of the fifth edition of the historic commemoration of the coming and death with his father Trapani Federico Manfredi III of Aragon, King of Sicily and Eleanor of Anjou.

The small Manfredi was born in Catania in 1306 and not having even six years was invested with the title of Duke of Athens, but he never went in his duchy, he died young as a result of a fall from his horse, while in Trapani . It was about 11 years and was a terrible event for parents, who shook them hopelessly for a lifetime.

The body of the young prince was buried in the Church of San Domenico, where his remains remarry in decorated wooden urn near the altar. After the death of Manfredi, the Duchy passed to his brother, William, of about five years.

The event is organized by the Culture and Tradition "Trapani: tradumari & winds" in collaboration with the Rectory San Domenico, with Legal Aid of the city of Trapani and the contribution of the Region of Sicily - Regional Ministry of Tourism - Department of Tourism, Sport and Entertainment .

Friday, November 11
17.30 (Madonna pier of the port - in front of the Coast Guard) Arrival of Manfredi and his royal family from "Castle on the Sea" with ancient "ladybug" Latin sail. In the presence of the Nobles and commoners of the medieval group "Monte San Giuliano» Erice, of Drums "Trinacria", the Knights ´Evenstar´ Enna and musicians and flag-waving "Real Trinacria" Trapani-Erice.
Entry into Parade (via Cappuccini, p, zza Scio, Corso V. Emanuele) (St. Augustine Church) Handing over the keys and welcome ceremony.
19.00 (Cloister S. Domenico) Medieval Village "scenes, atmospheres, smells and flavors of the Middle Ages ..." (until 23)
21.30 great SPECTACLE OF FLAGS AND MUSICIANS The flags circling high in the sky, the blaring of trumpets and roll of drums echoing in the ancient Dominican cloister: the first group of Trapani of Musicians and Flag Wavers´ Real Trinacria "in honor of King Frederick III of Aragon and the Royal family.

Saturday, November 12

(Visits by groups 10 hours to 13 hours - from 19 to 24 hours - Real Church of San Domenico)
