Will start on October 6 in Mazara del Vallo, the fifth edition of "Blue Sea Land", the Expo Agrifood Districts of the Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East.
The event is sponsored by the Fishing Production District, the Region of Sicily, by the city of Mazara del Vallo, the Ministries of Economic Development and of Agriculture and this year by the Ministry and the Food Bank, because as every year the Ževent will be entirely focused on nutrition, with special attention to food waste.
The food saving today is a theme of topical, because even though we live in times of crisis, unfortunately in our tables are witnessing a shameful waste of food.
Some data examining the scope of the problem: in the world 1/3 of the annual production of food ends up in the trash, while in Italy each person wastes 146 kg of food.
Well-being, then, occasions like this to reflect on food waste when millions of people worldwide suffer from hunger.
Blue Sea Land, however, is also an opportunity of entertainment for a weekend stay in Mazara del Vallo, where he will promote the culinary excellence of taste and the typical cultural features of each area.
Tourists and visitors generally can taste the products on display from all over the world and participate in several workshops.
Do not miss the shows and the cooking show in the casbah, which in Arabic means "citadel" to indicate the area of the old town and surrounding areas, in which 6 to 9 October will take place the event.
Commenced Thursday, October 6 at 18.00 with the Expo opening ceremony Blue Sea Land in 2016.
The event will bring 300 companies that will exhibit their culinary specialties, while 50 foreign delegations will be present, and 80 buyers that will participate in the meetings with the Agency for Foreign Trade.
