Favignana is the largest of the Egadi Islands. Very popular for its sea and its lush greenery, the island is visited by tens of thousands of tourists every year.
Getting to Favignana is relatively simple, but, depending on the selected months of the year (eg August) will happen to make long lines in order to embark sull´aliscafo.
Assuming you arrive from the airport of Trapani, to reach the port of Trapani and the Egadi to embark, there are basically 3 ways: take a taxi, rent a car with driver, take the bus.
Taxis are available outside the airport while the chauffeur must be booked before because, by law, they can not be stationed outside the airport waiting for and customers can come only if they have committed. In the right column you will find some advertising banners NCC among which you can choose what you prefer. The fare is around 10 € per person (€ more € less).
The bus on the other hand has a lower cost. At the time of writing the cost of a bus ticket from Trapani to Trapani port is € 4,90 per person and a table with times Bus-to-date can be found here.
Once you have crossed the scenic and charming street in the direction of the Salt Trapani, head down to the port of Trapani where you can embark on Favignana.
To reach Favignana off the ship there are 3 possibilities: hydrofoil, ferry or private boat. From Trapani you can use each of these solutions.
Private boats are mostly of two companies that are within these Internet addresses: www.egadiescursioni.it and www.egadinbarca.com The cost of the transfer in Favignana turns around 7-8 euro per person.
With regard to the ferries and hydrofoils instead you can opt for the company Usticalines Navigation (hydrofoils and ferries) and Siremar (only ferries). Being the world´s constantly in flux, at the time of writing the SIREMAR is in talks to sell then this company is to be treated with the benefit of the doubt until further information. The cost of the hydrofoil is € 8.80 for adults and 4.40 for children. We recommend that you make the ticket A / R as some tourists have complained about a price difference between the ticket of those in Trapani and those Favignana (with a slight price increase in Favignana).
The ferry instead has a cost of € 9.70 and can, of course, with an additional charge, you can board a means (car or motorcycle).
To these must be added the landing fee, which currently is € 1,50 per person.
